Department: School Office (St Peter’s 2-8 & 8-13)

Hours of work:

Role 1 - Mon to Fri 08:00 to 13:30 Term Time Only + 2 weeks

Role 2 – Mon to Fri 12:30 to 18:00 Term Time Only + 2 weeks

In addition, half a day (08.00 to 12.00) is worked on a Saturday on a rota basis (approx. 12 per year) as part of the normal working week for which compensatory time off will be given

Salary: £14,162 p.a. from 1st September 2023

Overall purpose of the post:

To provide a professional reception and school office administration service to visitors, parents, staff and pupils

Key responsibilities:

  • To answer/deal with queries, both face to face and via the telephone, take messages and pass them on to the relevant member of staff in an appropriate and timely manner
  • To provide appropriate reception cover as and when required, including pupil registration
  • To deal with internal and external post and emails on a day-to-day basis, including bulk mailings
  • To provide services to teaching staff such as reprographics and event support
  • To maintain accurate pupil records and undertake data inputting
  • To oversee specific areas of office administration including (this is not a comprehensive list of duties and is subject to variation as the office need requires)
  • To minute meetings as required
  • To undertake housekeeping in the office, reception and other adjacent spaces, ensuring their appearance is neat and tidy at all times
  • To be a flexible and supportive member of the team
  • To maintain strict confidentiality at all times with due references to the School’s Data Protection Policy and Procedures
  • To provide excellent levels of service at all times
  • To attend and take part in team meetings & regular reviews with line manager etc.
