Your Role and Responsibilities


The role is a combination of both technical delivery and pre-sales. Depending on your role and demand, your pre-sales activities will be mixed across opportunity origination (campaigns and offering enablement) and opportunity closing (solutioning).

  • Study existing technology landscape and understand current application workloads
  • Understand and document technical requirements from clients
  • Define migration strategy and bill of materials for moving applications to OCI IaaS/PaaS services
  • Develop high-level blueprints and detailed designs for cloud applications and infrastructure architectures
  • Design the overall virtual private cloud environment including compute, storage, networking, security, etc.
  • Design HA / DR strategies
  • Set up processes, services and tools around cloud
  • Oversee environment build leveraging automation where possible
  • Execute migration plan
  • Validate that environments meet security and compliance controls
  • Collaborate with our delivery, accounts, and go-to-market teams, purely focused on transformation solutions with OCI and ecosystem technologies
  • Build strong and enduring relationships with our clients, account teams, and technology practices
  • Act as an OCI evangelist, and using your deep expertise to articulate technical answers, demonstrate OCI services, solutions, cloud practices and the business value to our clients
  • Keep up to date with new technology and be an enablement leader to assist our wider teams and clients to assess, build and deliver new capabilities
  • Support our OCI opportunity pipeline

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Proven experience assessing client’s Oracle workloads and technology landscape for OCI suitability, including hybrid cloud adoption patterns and network and security design for complex architectures to support high availability and disaster recovery requirements
  • You have a passion for technology, expertise, creativity, and evangelism
  • Consulting experience is essential, and you will be able to demonstrate your ability to influence, manage stakeholders and act with integrity
  • Experience with OCI services and sales plays and the ecosystem of ISV products and offerings
  • Ideally you come from a technology delivery background, where you have hands on experience in support, engineering and/or project delivery
  • Experience with working with large global technology systems integrators and know how to navigate your way around their offerings, capabilities, accounts, and partners to originate and delivery opportunities
  • You can talk at the level of a technical engineer, right through to the C-suite. You have a good presence and can establish immediate credibility
  • Worked on large scale, complex solutions, and delivery
  • Leading, coaching, and mentoring team and project members
  • Engaging client development, infrastructure, security and IT operations teams and identifying repeatable patterns and architectures for cloud migration
  • Developing go-to-market offerings, campaigning and enabling sales teams to take to market
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness
  • You have experience of being a technology leader, and trusted ambassador

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • OCI certifications (migration/integration/database services, security, operations, developer etc.)
  • Oracle database modernisation
  • Oracle packaged applications (on-prem and/or OCI)
  • Infrastructure as Code and DevOps advisory (Terraform, Ansible, OCI DevOps, VBS)
  • Cloud native application modernisation (containers, serverless, microservice architectures and containerisation techniques)
  • Linux fundamentals
  • VMWare migration to cloud solutions
  • Infrastructure observability and monitoring (OCI native, OMC, OEM)
