RJS Recruitment are working with one of the leading European Freight Forward companies to recruit an ambitious Sales Executive, based in Felixstowe. Our client is seeking a driven individual with a desire to succeed in logistics. The ideal candidate will be sales driven with a can - do attitude, determined and highly pro-active.
Your key role with be to generate new and profitable business for the Ocean Freight department.
Duties and Responsibilities
. Generate new business leads and opportunities by identifying potential clients.
. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of our services, including air freight, ocean freight, road transportation, customs brokerage, and supply chain solutions, to effectively communicate the value proposition to clients
. Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and quotations to potential clients, highlighting the benefits of our services and tailoring the message to their specific needs
. Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to stay abreast of industry trends and developments, ensuring our services remain competitive and relevant to our target market
. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through regular communication, attending industry events, and providing exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction and long-term retention.
. Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless execution of client orders and resolve any issues that may arise during the freight forwarding process
. Regularly update and maintain accurate client information in our CRM system Hubspot, ensuring all sales activities, communications, and opportunities are tracked and documented
. Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets as set by the company
. Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to management, highlighting progress, challenges, and opportunities for growth
. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute targeted sales campaigns and promotional activities to increase brand awareness and generate new leads.
Candidate Experience and abilities must include:
- A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in sales, preferably within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of the freight forwarding process, including knowledge of various modes of transportation, customs regulations, and international trade compliance.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and generating new business opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal team members.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to effectively present and sell our services to potential clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and experience working with CRM systems.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong desire to succeed in a competitive sales environment.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities.
