Job description
Mid-Bedfordshire Community Mental Health Teams
Band 4 Occupational Therapy Technician, part-time (18.75hrs) post
Due to a review of skill mix, we have created new Occupational Therapy Technician posts to support the work of the occupational therapists in community mental health services in Luton and Bedfordshire. The successful post holders will be responsible for providing specialist Occupational Therapy intervention under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist, as well as working independently on a day to day basis in a variety of settings.
The post holder will work within already well-established multi-disciplinary teams to promote and facilitate the OT programme in the community through specialist 1:1 intervention and group work, enabling clients to identify and work towards personalised goals to support their recovery. The post holder must be a car driver and have, or be willing to obtain, business insurance.
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
You will be supported by both the wider OT service and the wider MDT in both Mid-Bedfordshire CMHT's.
There are regular Trust wide Occupational Therapy meetings, opportunities for personal development, supervision and yearly appraisal and support from the Head Occupational Therapist.
If you have these skills and wish to work with a supportive team who strive to enable people to reach their recovery goals, please apply.
