OT Technical Assistant
Part time - 30 hours per week
An amazing opportunity has arisen to join the Allied Health Professional team in the Adult Urgent Care Mental Health Services within the Black Country Healthcare organisation. The successful applicant will work in a fast paced hospital environment, whilst developing clinical and quality therapeutic skills working as part of a multi disciplinary team on the Adult inpatients wards.

The multi-disciplinary team provides both specialist assessments to service users experiencing acute mental health crisis and offers a needs led, recovery focused, individual and group based activity and therapy programme, supporting individuals recovering from mental health crisis.
We are looking for somebody who is committed and motivated to delivering the best care to our patients. The applicant must have experience of working with the Adults client base and a genuine interest in Occupational Therapy . The successful candidate has an opportunity to provide Occupational Therapy process from the beginning of the patient's recovery whilst in hospital and will work alongside the multi-disciplinary clinical leadership team to deliver good quality care.
Main duties of the job
- The post-holder will assist the Occupational Therapy team by contributing to the delivery of Therapeutic interventions and support activities with Adults Mental Health.
- Under supervision and guidance of the Occupational Therapist, the post-holder will take responsibility for supporting a pre-directed care plan for the service user, contributing to the implementation of clinical care and providing feedback on progress of the service user.
- Under the guidance of senior staff, the post-holder is responsible for organising their own time so that the needs of the service can be met.
- The post-holder will adapt individual treatment plans to suit the needs of the Adults Inpatients, the environment at the time of delivery and will feedback any changes and information from wider Multi-Disciplinary Team and AHP Team.
- The post-holder will assist group sessions with a qualified Occupational Therapist, emphasising on skills development and social inclusion.

Achieved GCSE
NVQ
Experience working in Adults/OA MH
Knowledge in Model of Human Occupation and single observations
Desirable criteria
Experience in an inpatient setting
Working in a MDT
Delivering OT therapeutic interventions/activitie

Salary: £22,816.00-£24,366.00 per year
