Leigh House is developing a brand new day hospital for young people with eating disorders , The post holder will work across both inpatient and day hospital .The day hospital will provide a day programme where young people can receive evidence-based interventions to prevent the need for admission to hospital. Multi-family therapy and systemic therapy will be core interventions for the day programme along with a range of occupational therapy, nursing, creative therapy and psychologically led groups. Education and meal support will be key components of the programme.
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who has an interest in working with young people within a mental health setting or has experience in working in mental health, to join our established Occupational Therapy Team. The post holder will be involved in assessment, interventions and discharge planning of young people care. They will also be working alongside a Band 6 occupational therapist and an occupational therapy assistant.
The successful candidate will be welcomed as an integral part of the team; provided with a full induction, offered extensive training, and provided with regular supervision. Working as part of the Occupational Therapy team, you will receive additional training in the VdT Model of Creative Ability and Sensory Integration Theory to support you to successfully engage young people.
