Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Occupational Therapy Practitioner to work as part of the Acute Occupational Therapy Team at MFT Wythenshawe Site.

You will work as an interdisciplinary practitioner supporting the role of all members of the team to ensure high quality patient focused care is provided for Acute Medical, Respiratory, Cardiac and Surgical patients within the acute hospital setting.

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in Occupational Therapy and to work closely with the multidisciplinary teams in the areas of Medicine and Surgery. You will work alongside the Occupational Therapists and be involved in the treatment, goal setting and discharge planning of patients.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who has ideally had previous experience working with Occupational Therapists either in an acute or community setting. You should be able to work as directed by the qualified therapists on the team, but also be competent and feel confident to carry out your own caseload reporting back to the team. You should have the ability to be motivating and empathetic to enable patient’s to achieve their full potential and facilitate their discharge from the Acute setting.

You should have competent IT skills that enable you to navigate our electronic systems in the Trust and other service systems.

The successful candidate should have excellent communications skills to enable face to face discussion as well as telephone and electronic devices.
