Job Purpose:
To provide management and leadership to staff team within the Occupational Therapy service area of Bon Accord Care/Support Services and develop and enhance the service to promote good outcomes for service users their families and carers
Aberdeen is Scotland’s third biggest city but even with our size and urban life, we’re surrounded by some of the most stunning scenery in the country. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an additional Occupational Therapy Lead to provide overall management and leadership to staff teams within the service.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills with experience of managing resources, staff, and services. You will ensure professional standards of practice and governance to promote high quality services and good outcomes for the service user, their families, and carers. You will also contribute to and influence policy level thinking within the profession and work collaboratively with partners in the development of services to meet the future challenges in health and social care. You will have a strong commitment to continuous professional development, service improvement and evidence-based practice.
You will be joining a friendly, well-established service and will be supported by experienced senior occupational therapy staff and an executive leadership team. We have good learning and development opportunities and promote career progression in management and leadership through our accredited SVQ centre.
You will be provided with IT equipment to promote flexible working and we offer:

Requirements
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
Professional Qualification in Occupational Therapy (Degree/Diploma) and registered with professional body
SVQ Level 4 management qualification or equivalent or willingness to work towards
Registration with relevant professional body
PVG registration
Responsibilities
The post holder is expected to demonstrate:

Work creatively to resolve problems whilst adhering to existing Bon Accord Care policy and standards
Communicate effectively with a range of audiences, including chairing meetings effectively and the delivery of presentations and training courses
Identify training needs and to develop and deliver training that meets company, policy and legal developments
Critically evaluate practice and give feedback in a developmental way to candidates,
assessors and stakeholders as required
