Mental Health Adults Personality Disorder Service Line
Summary of the site:
Upping ward is a female acute ward with 12 beds at Cygnet Hospital Beckton. Upping ward provides a safe and stabilising environment for individuals who are experiencing personality disorder and require a hospital admission.
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant the role involves planning and implementing activities as a therapeutic medium under the guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist. The post holder will be offered support and guidance to utilise standardised assessments and implement structured groups.
In this role you will work within an MDT (which consists of Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Medical and Social Work) to support recovery and rehabilitation for service users on Hooper Ward.
Cygnet Hospital Beckton is situated in a bustling London location with great public transport links, community links, beautiful parks and landmarks such as the Thames Barrier.
Occupational Therapy Directorate
Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.
Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.
Occupational Therapy Assistant Preceptorship & Induction:
We offer an Occupational Therapy Assistant classroom training days, and a 12 month preceptorship programme to support and consolidate core Occupational Therapy Skills.
