Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Registered Occupational Therapists the post holder will be expected to:
· Actively work as member of the Occupational Therapist (OT) team and wider Therapy team to provide a high quality of rehabilitation care.
· To actively participate in delivering individual rehabilitation programmes under the guidance of the OT.
· To be able to drive the transport vehicles and effectively load and secure wheelchairs within them (Insurance restrictions require drivers to be 25 years old or more).
· To plan and lead resident trips in community settings in conjunction with risk assessments done with the OT.
· To plan and prioritise own workload and contribute to the effective and efficient running of the OT service.
· Assist in the cleaning, administration and clerical duties of the department.
· To be involved in the education and training of students and other staff.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Treat residents/ patients following treatment plans that have been delegated to them eg; exercise plans, group work, activities of daily living and personal care tasks as part of an individuals on-going management.
2. To be able to recognise change in a patient/ residents’ condition and effectively communicate these findings to most appropriate person.
3. To work effectively as a member of a team in carrying out department based therapeutic activities.
4. To work with qualified members of Therapy staff to treat residents/patients.
5. To complete relevant competencies.
6. Undertake delegated tasks to contribute to the safe and smooth running of the service.
7. To maintain the department and equipment in a clean and orderly manner, bringing to the notice of relevant people anything that is damaged/ worn.
8. Plan and prioritise own workload to ensure efficient working.
9. To ensure that accurate, legible, up-to-date written resident/ patient related records and activity data are maintained in accordance with Professional, Departmental and Castel Froma standards.
10. To adhere to the Department and the Castel Froma’s Code of Conduct and all other relevant policies and procedures, including Infection Control and Safeguarding.
11. In line with Castel Froma guidelines review and reflect on own practice and performance through regular participation in annual appraisal.
12. To participate in the induction, training and education of students and other staff within this setting.
13. To assist in the training of new assistants.
14. To understand the formatting of the resident care plans and ensure the OT section is organised and current.
15. To participate in all mandatory training and relevant in house training, keeping a record of training and development activities (CPD).
16. To ensure that areas are well maintained and comply with health and safety and infection control guidelines, ensuring the safe use of equipment and storage of materials.
17. To exercise good personal time management, punctuality and consistent reliable attendance.

Pay dependent on relevant experience etc.
