Job Scope:
We are looking to recruit an Occupational Therapist to be part of Catalyst Care Group’s growing MDT team. The Occupational Therapist will have lead responsibility for the provision and promotion of independent living.
The role of the Occupational Therapist is hybrid and primarily involves providing direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of individuals / interventions and support for individuals within the community. In this role you will assess, implement, and develop an OT treatment programme according to individual's diagnosis and identified needs, as well as working collaboratively as part of an MDT to implement treatment plans, monitor and report outcomes to key stakeholders.
The Occupational Therapist will liaise with other services, agencies, persons Catalyst Care Group supports and clinicians to contribute to the identification of needs. You will also undertake assessment and planning with people affected by/living with ill health, disability, long term conditions and general aging to provide profession specific information, advice, and interventions.
The Occupational Therapist is required to be responsible for managing a caseload of individuals with varying mental health and social care needs within the community, as well as to be involved in researching and developing policies and procedures relevant to the role.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be required to conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor progress while providing clinical and managerial supervision on a 4-week basis. Additionally, you will be traveling to different locations to conduct assessments. Your commitment to continuous personal and professional development is crucial to providing high-quality care and service in this role.
The responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist also include active participation in internal and external multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, where you will collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best interests of the persons you support are met.
Furthermore, you will be representing both the individuals and the company in external meetings, as well as supporting individuals transitioning from secure settings back into the community. You will be tasked with delivering training to clinicians and the MDT as needed, aligning with report recommendations and upskilling clinicians.
Do you have?
- A degree (or equivalent) e.g., BSc, MSc, or Diploma entry level qualification in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
- OT experience mental health
- At least two years of post-qualifying experience working as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience at band 6/7 level
- Understanding of positive behaviour support (PBS) and how the role contributes to this approach
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience of care planning for individuals and managing a case load in a range of settings working with people with disabilities and experience of multi-disciplinary/multi agency working
- Knowledge of medical conditions, an understanding of the social model of disability, the ability to always maintain a professional manner and demonstrate anti discriminatory practice
