If so, this role might be for you as we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our OT team at Farmfield in Charlwood.
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will manage a caseload using an evidence-based approach and client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. These will provide service users with the confidence, skills and coping strategies to function in everyday life. With prior experience in a similar role from the NHS or private sector, you will carry a designated caseload to identify occupational therapy goals as part of service users' overall care plan through assessment tools.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Receive and respond promptly to new admissions, undertaking service user assessments to identify and prioritise needs, before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis. The OT team follows MOHO (Model of Human Occupation).
- Maintain evaluation records of performance for individuals, providing verbal and written feedback forward rounds and discharge planning meetings. Actively participate in the clinical discussion of service user’s needs and development of care plans.
- Contribute to discharge planning and in supporting service users through their recovery pathway back into the community.
- Ensure the effective and efficient management and supervision of more junior staff (2 Occupational Therapy assistants).
- Maintain and develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring clinical practise is in line with Elysium policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards.
- Contribute to business growth by actively promoting Elysium Healthcare therapy services in line with the local unit’s business plan.
- Maintain effective communication links with service users, relatives, carers and external professionals throughout the service user’s rehabilitation journey.
- Contribute towards service evaluation and development.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- To hold a BSC (Hons) or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- RCOT membership is recommended, though not essential.
- To have at least 2 years clinical experience including some experience of working in a mental health inpatient setting. Previous experience of working in an acute setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
