Occupational Health Advisor

The role is mostly based at home for clinical work with travel to York Office for monthly team meetings. You’ll be required to travel less frequently to some of our UK factory sites.
Position Summary
A new opportunity has opened to join our highly valued occupational health team which belongs to the Nestlé Health and Wellbeing function UK & Ireland. Our focus is on quality not quantity; we strive to provide the right level of support at all times.
We are a nurse lead team and you will be joining five other occupational health advisers, two occupational health technicians, supported by occupational health administration. Clinical leadership and support are provided by the occupational health manager with remote support as needed from our contract occupational physician. Structured counselling is available to employees via our EAP provider and physiotherapy is provided via a third party network.
Working with OPAS G2 cloud based occupational health software, we receive referrals and arrange appointments via the system. Bookings are automated, we have telephone software to make and receive calls and we use Microsoft Teams to keep in contact remotely.
You’ll be able to demonstrate the ability to influence and drive positive change, with strong case management skills and the knowledge/ability to interpret health surveillance results to support our technicians remotely. Occupational health qualification is required with a minimal 3 years’ experience working in an occupational health setting.
A day in the life of an Occupational Health Advisor
Appointments are telephone based. Our schedules vary across the month, with time allocated for clinical triage, time allocated to scheduled appointments, planned meetings and time for project work, training and development. We provide a laptop and 2nd monitor, iPhone, headset, keyboard, and mouse for work from home. Or alternatively if you are based locally, we have serviced offices in York with an onsite gym and restaurant.
You’ll be fully onboarded as part of your welcome to Nestle with a 4-to-5-week induction plan. After induction, you’ll take responsibility for two to three Nestlé factory sites; liaising with HR and SHE managers at site with monthly meetings which can be arranged remotely via Teams. Alongside supporting any additional referrals which may come in for the Team.
