Job description
If you are someone who has bags of energy and who loves to be creative (we’re talking lots of singing, painting and role play) and wants to bring out the best in children, so that they have the greatest start in life, then you are exactly what we are looking for!
At Smarty Pants Day Nursery, we believe every practitioner brings something unique to our team. We understand that you do one of the most important jobs in the world and we want you to know that you deserve all the acknowledgement and support… and a fun atmosphere to work in of course!
As a diverse setting, everyone is welcome at Smarty Pants Day Nursery. Our workforce is dedicated and passionate about childcare and share one common theme: what we do matters. We want all practitioners to feel like they belong in a team that promotes happiness and so we not only care about the well-being of our children but also your well-being too.
You should join us if:
- You are someone with a heart for children and a passion for their development
- You don't take yourself too seriously. We are all about fun and creativity, so one minute you might be a bear walking through the jungle, the next you be making a spaceship out of boxes and taking a journey through space.
- You are motivated and driven with an attitude that screams "I CAN DO IT!"
- You hold a relevant Early Years Qualification at level 2 or above
- You have the energy to make learning fun and engaging for all of our children.
What will you be doing?
No two days are the same when working at Smarty Pants Day Nursery, however, you can expect to be doing the following on a day-to-day basis:
- Creating and planning engaging activities according to the EYFS
- Building and maintaining relationships with our children and parents (and your team members too!)
- Ensuring that you are always promoting the welfare of our children and making sure safeguarding procedures are always followed – it’s our top priority
Because you work hard and are passionate about your job, we will offer you, in additional to your salary:
- 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) - holiday increase with years of service
- Paid training including three inset days each year - we always need to refresh our learning
- Childcare discounts - because you need childcare too
- Refer a friend bonus
- Wellbeing benefits and treats e.g. 'Feel-Good Fridays'
Successful applicants must be able to provide 'right to work in the UK' documentation, provide two satisfactory references and undertake an enhanced DBS check prior to commencing employment.
