Job description
We are a private run day nursery that is looking to strengthen our team, by adding some new leaders to the team.
Main Responsibilities:
- To assist the Management team at all times.
- To cover deputy and Manager roles in their absence (Inc responding to emails, sending invoices, arranging viewings)
- To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Deputy or Manager and to delegate jobs to staff where necessary.
- To ensure ratios are maintained and to notify Manager and Deputy where necessary.
- Check risk assessments are completed
- To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care and development for children is provided at all times.
- To give support to the Management team and all staff members at all times.
- Ensure all staff are adhering to Policies & Procedures
- To ensure all staff are fulfilling their job roles and sharing responsibilities.
- Report back to management team on a daily basis with teams performance, concerns, suggestions etc.
- Ensure you report general concerns from both staff and parents.
- Ensure a high standard of communication between staff is being adhered to.
- Over see planning and ensure staff understand and feel confident to implement activities for the correct age range and stage of each child’s development.
- Feed back to staff and give instruction where necessary.
- Support staff to complete daily news feed posts and observations via Nursery software. Check these are always kept up-to-date
- Organise and maintain the key worker system.
- To ensure all staff pose a professional manner at all times.
- Maintain good organisational skills.
- Withhold and maintain certificates in Food hygiene Level 2 Paediatric First Aid.
Other Duties:
- In conjunction with the Management team, formulate, operate and evaluate a yearly programme of activities, following the guidelines of the National Curriculum that is suitable to the age range of children.
- To assist the Management team in promoting Equal Opportunities throughout the Nursery.
- To work alongside the parents/carers of children with additional needs
- Identify the physical, emotional, intellectual and developmental needs of children with special needs and offer support and relevant developmental opportunities.
- Assist the management team to achieve full integration within the Nursery.
- Liaise with and support parents/carers and other family members.
- Liaise with the Local authority and other professionals associated with the Nursery.
- Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions outside working hours.
- Undertake certain domestic duties within the Nursery, i.e, preparation of snacks, cleansing of equipment.
- Work alongside the Management team and staff to ensure that the philosophy behind the Nursery is fulfilled.
- Undertake other duties as may be requested from time to time by the Manager and the Deputy.
