Job Summary:
Qualified Candidates:
- Primary role of the provider is to conduct clinic or outpatient office visits for the preoperative and postoperative care and long term management of bariatric patients.
- Perform dietary counseling/bariatric educations visits in the preoperative/criteria process (this may include initial consultation for bariatric surgery)
- Provide postoperative weight management/maintenance care of bariatric patients (this may include use of pharmacological therapy with anti-obesity medication prescribing and management)
- Role may also include preoperative care of performing H&P’s and reviewing lab results
- Prior experience in bariatric medicine, medical weight loss is preferred as well as the ability to have some level of independence in their patient care practice
- Board certification required in their specialty
- Virginia licensure or ability to obtain
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, physicians and administration
