We're looking for a caring and compassionate nurses (RGNs) to provide holistic care and support to victims of sexual assault.

Each region has its own dedicated SARC (sexual assault referral centre) which offers support and practical help to anyone who has been a victim of rape or sexual assault. Our services are co-funded by the Police and the NHS.

The nursing team are responsible for providing a dedicated 24/7 service for the forensic and acute health needs and requirements.

As a Forensic Nurse Examiner, you'll recieve full training and support.

This is a full time vacancy of 42 hours per week (on average), though part time applications will also be considered.

The shift times are 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am.

The Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) will be responsible for providing:

(duties will include, but are not limited to):

  • Providing telephone advice to patients and colleagues.
  • Undertaking Holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health & safeguarding.
  • Use of a camera system to document injuries.
  • Information sharing where appropriate.
  • Producing individual management plans
  • Support the continued quality improvement of the service.
  • Forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits.

Please note, all successful candidates will be subject to pre-employment checks including; an Enhanced DBS check, 2 satisfactory references and a Police vetting checks.

Whilst the position may be based from one location, additional travel will be a requirement of the role to locations across the county (including local hospitals).

Essential Skills:

  • Registered General/Adult Nursing Qualification.
  • A minimum of 1+ year post qualification experience.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable people.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Full U.K Drivers Licence

Desired Skills:

  • Experience of working in a field related to Sexual Health.
  • Experience of supporting victims of sexual assault.
