NTC International also raise funds to help improve the mental health of children in the UK, through our LOVE PEACE PROGRAMMME designed for young children's early development and while helping them build mental resilience. This role promises to equip you with multifaceted skills, national and international marketing, social and various levels of communication skills as you STRIVE TO MAKE THIS WORLD A BETTER PLACE. It also affords you an opportunity to raise funds for a visit to the children in Africa, and overseas volunteering, after a year of dedicated work with NTC International.

Are you a qualified HR Officer / Advisor? Would you like to work with a children/youth focussed charity and be an integral part of their small HR team?

The HR Officer will primarily be supporting the Fundraising Manager with onboarding, recruitment and providing generalist HR advice to Heads of Departments. You will be the first point of contact for all HR queries and will provide initial support and guidance.

You will play a pivotal role in evolving HR policies and initiatives within the charity and will be the “go to” person for onboarding, recruitment, interviews and shortlisting frameworks ensuring compliance with operational policies and supporting on all HR projects.

We are fully registered in the USA and are looking to resume charity operations there, while the UK office remains the Head Quarters. We will also need you to help with the recruitment process.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with various departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with a range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance, health and safety plus safeguarding.
  • Developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing, and selecting candidates for new roles.
  • Develop and implement policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures, and absence management.
  • Interpret and advise on employment law and ensure that all staff have up-to-date DBS.
  • Deal with grievances and implement disciplinary procedures.
  • Develop HR planning strategies - considering immediate and long-term staff requirements.
  • Plan and sometimes deliver training, including new staff inductions for our local and international teams (USA and Nigeria).

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

- Ability to work, using your initiative, and to collaborate with teams across departments.

- Absolute discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.

- Customer focused and able to anticipate and resolve problems before they arise.

This is initially a temporary role with scope to become permanent and a real opportunity to make this role your own in a progressive and impact led organisation.
