Virtual School Co-ordinator Role Profile
Due to the promotion of the existing post-holder, the Virtual School for Plymouth City Council are seeking a passionate, organised and conscientious business support professional to manage the organisational elements of the service.
The virtual school looks after the educational engagement of all children and young people in care to the City of Plymouth. In addition, we have strategic responsibility for the promotion of highly inclusive practice for all pupils in schools open to a social worker.
As such the work of the Virtual School Coordinator is quite specialist with regard to this highly vulnerable group, and you will be expected to rapidly gain knowledge and understanding of the effective use and distribution of the Pupil Premium Plus funding, as well as the specific IT systems used within the service.
The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal and customer services skills as the public-facing first point of contact for the team. You will have well developed organisational, financial and IT skills, with an ability to prioritise your daily tasks to meet the busy schedule and high pace of the working week. The post would suit someone with existing experience of school senior administration, safeguarding and inclusion work, or social care administration.
Those with prior experience of using school MIS systems, finance and/or social care IT systems such as Eclipse and ePEP will have an advantage. This role is suitable for flexible working subject to the needs of the service.
