Adept are delighted to be working with a leading casting manufacturer based in Rotherham, currently seeking a skilled Finishing Operative to join their dynamic team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who have a strong background in foundry work.

Responsibilities:

• Upgrading castings in both Non-Ferrous and Ferrous alloys, ensuring they meet specified requirements.
• Working with precision to achieve tight tolerances and strictly adhering to quality procedures.
• Removing ceramic mold material from castings.
• Utilizing hand tools such as grinders, burrs, and abrasive belts to eliminate metal running, feeding, and gating systems.
• Preparing castings for the welding process to ensure readiness.
• Dressing castings to meet drawing tolerance and profile specifications.
• Proficiently using measurement tools such as verniers, calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
• Undertaking additional responsibilities as necessary, beyond those listed above.
• Proven experience as a Finishing Operative or in a similar role within the casting industry..

Salary and Benefits:

• Competitive Salary
• Holidays 22 days per year, plus 1 additional day for each year of service up to 5 years, plus bank holidays.
• 37.5 hours; Monday - Thursday 6am -2pm / 2pm – 10pm, Friday 5am -1pm / 1pm – 9pm.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £23,000.00-£25,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Rotherham, South Yorkshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Upholstery: 1 year (preferred)
