MSS Non-Financial Risk (NFR) is a function that sits within the Markets and Securities Services (MSS) division of HSBC’s Global Banking & Markets (GBM) business. The NFR team helps manage and control non-financial risks of the business, including but not limited to operational, compliance, conduct, and product lifecycle risk.
We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of: Non-Financial Risk Analyst
A High level overview of the role is: MSS NFR business is structured into of 3 areas; Controls Assurance, Risk Specialist and Supervision, this role will work across the whole structure as a generalist assisting the 3 specialised areas offering analytical support.
The role holder will also ensure the HSBC values are present in everything they do, both individually and as an organisation. The role has a hybrid working pattern allowing for home based and office based working at HSBC offices Lochside Way, Edinburgh.
In this role you will:
- Assist the team on embedding all BAU aspects of the framework and work on design of the framework, and with the Regional and Asset Class lead control officers, and key stakeholders (such as in Compliance and Risk) in supporting and where necessary leading, the enhancement of controls and best practice within the business.
- Coordinate escalations and responses regarding actions for the Group leadership
- Coordinate actions received for MSS stakeholders
- Provide briefings on key MSS topics to the MSS CEO ahead of the Group RMM meetings.
- Assist in running the MSS Global NFR forum and manage secretariat responsibilities.
- Manage forward agenda of key MSS NFR Risk Topics (Asset class spotlights and thematic deep-dives) for discussion and provide input, review and challenge into materials and meeting to drive effective discussion.
- Assist in the refresh of the RCAs in coordination with the Risk Stewards, Risk Owners and Control Owners
To be successful you should meet the following requirements
- Good commercial understanding of financial services business and products
- Experience in business management focussed around Risk & Compliance Frameworks
- Great analytical skills – able to disseminate data & information in order to enhance procedures and controls.
- Solid problem solving and prioritization skills allowing you to manage conflicting priorities under pressure
- Strong relationship management and collaboration skills - have experience of managing senior stakeholders and ability to build strong relationships;
- High level interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels including proven ability to articulate issues concisely and in clear language.
- Advanced Microsoft skills (Excel/ PowerPoint /Word)
