Job description
Pedestrian NDT Inspection operative testing in line with current contracts in the UK, Europe and rest of the world, as required by the business.
Key Accountabilities
- Carry out pedestrian testing / Post-Train Flaw Verification in a professional manner, and in accordance with customers standards/specifications.
- Operate Pedestrian NDT equipment, including Sperry’s A & B Scan walking sticks, SCD ET Walking sticks, and NDT motorised/push trolleys (DRIS).
- Carryout Competency and Safety Critical assessments in accordance with the annual plan and report findings, ensuring compliance with Competency Management System.
- Assist in controlling the maintenance and calibration of ultrasonic equipment.
- Assist in identifying training requirements for operational staff.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential:
- ASNT Level 2 in Ultrasonics.
- ASNT Level 1 in Eddy Current.
- Safety Critical Background / H&S compliant.
- Appreciation of Mechanical and Electrical disciplines.
- Basic level of computer skills.
Desirable:
- Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) level education.
- PCN/EN9712 Qualifications.
- Experience of Fault Diagnosis.
- Experience of working away from home, particularly in remote locations with minimal resources.
- Practical railway engineering experience in the field of ultrasonic rail testing.
- Working knowledge of Railway Group Standards.
- Working knowledge of ISO9001.
- Bi-lingual.
Central base location will be Derby.
The starting salary for these 2 positions is £27,500 per annum, however, should you already be qualified at ASNT levels as stated above the starting salary will become negotiable.
