NIPE Practice Consultant Norwich, England

Norfolk County Council
Full Time Norwich, England 39248 - 43517 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Permanent Contract | £39,248 to £43,517 per annum (Scale K) | 37 hours per week | County Hall, Norwich

It is an exiting time within the Adult Norfolk Institute for Practice Excellence Team (NIPE). We are a multi-disciplinary team. We have increased the support we offer to not only Newly Qualified Social Workers, but also other new practitioners to Norfolk Adult Social Care, which includes Supported Assistant Practitioners, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers who have been internationally educated. A colleague has progressed their career to become a Team Manager, demonstrating the great leadership opportunities that are available in NIPE to promote career progression; this has enabled an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Social Work Practice Consultant to join the team.

The NIPE Practice Consultant role is varied, but some of the key elements of the role are: supporting the development of social care practitioners across the county, providing reflective supervision, delivering an holistic ASYE (Assessed and Supported year of Employment) assessor role, being involved in the induction of new staff including facilitating regular workshops and delivering a range of training programs.

The role will involve working across the County with a range of client groups and different teams, which includes Mental Health, Learning Disability, Physical Disability, Older People and Carers. At this time the base for NIPE is County Hall, but due to the nature of the work, your time may be spent working from home, or completing observational visits across the County and hot desking in other NCC offices where appropriate.

For an informal discussion around this opportunity, please contact Caroline Bowman (Team Manager) on 01603 223787

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive registered Social Worker who has a passion for supporting the development of colleagues as well as looking at how to improve our current offer to new and existing employees. You will have a sound knowledge around practice theories, applying legislation, and be able to put these into context for others to understand, and have experience supporting, assessing , or supervising colleagues. Due to the nature of the work you will need to be a good communicator as you will be expected to host training events and deliver presentations.

We want our people to be inspired and motivated to work well together, make the most of our workspaces, enjoy a healthy work-life balance, and deliver excellent services to Norfolk and its people. Flexibility is built into the way we work, with hybrid working a key feature for many roles. Our technology platform and equipment are first class, enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We ask that you have in place good Broadband connectivity.
