Purpose of the Role
Access Control and Visitors
Officers are under no circumstances to invite friends, family or other unauthorised persons onto site and specifically into the site control room without prior permission from the Property Manager.
All visitors must sign in on the visitor’s log.
Any person/s entering the CCTV control room who do not hold a valid SIA CCTV licence must fill out the Control Room Visitors Log.
Patrol Check List
Check buildings and surroundings – Fire, leaks, damage, or other hazards.
Check that any external locks, especially padlocks, have not been tampered with or left unlocked. Any rooms or buildings that should be locked and are not must be checked for intruders or interference. Secure and report, or carry out actions in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
Check buildings for obvious damage and safety hazards and, if found, report in accordance with the site Assignment Instructions. Challenge any suspicious personnel.
Communication devices (mobile telephone, radio) are carried at all times when working alone or out of visible contact with any person who may still be working on the assignment;
If furnished with, lifts must not be used when alone on site;
If faced with a violent/confrontational situation, you should refer to the Risk Assessment SAVSEC 20.33.
Night time patrolling
Nightshift to check the building on a regular basis making sure that both internal and external of the building is ok. If any damage/ vandalism is found report it to the operations managers at your earlies opportunity. Locking up and opening for the early shift to be undertaken as part of the duties. Make sure that on handover both at start and end of shift all information is logged and passed on to the next shift. Make sure that handover sheets are being completed and signed off.
Lone working nightshift to make sure and complete hourly check calls and monitor CCTV. Report any suspicious behaviour to the police and complete incident reports. Exceptions to leaving the control room for fire, intruder alarm opening/ locking up or allowing tenants to exit the centre.

Essential:

- First Aid
Working Hours - 42 hours per week
