Working 4 nights out of 7, shifts varying between 6pm to midnight
Full Driving Licence Required with no more than 3 points on licence
Full police check will be required.
To reduce the fear of crime and give the public reassurance by patrolling the town and initiating actions for improvements.
· To participate in appropriate initiatives aimed at maintaining safe and clean neighbourhoods.
· To respond to antisocial behaviour.
· To issue fixed penalty notices for littering, graffiti and fly posting.
· Record details of work undertaken and where necessary interview, prepare and issue legal documents and attend court as the council’s witness.
· To liaise with the Witham Special Constabulary and offer any support required.
· Be a visible presence in the town and promptly tackle environmental issues.
· Liaise with external organisations such as ‘Streetlink’ to report issues of homelessness in the town.
· Maintain vehicles and equipment in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
· Where required, undertake inspections, surveys, surveillance or investigations.
Other requirements include:
· To have an understanding of general health & safety law and risk assessment procedures for lone worker and manual working.
· To attend periodic meetings with administrative staff as required.
· To have an awareness of open spaces regulations and byelaws to ensure Town Council spaces are not subject to misuse.
· Fitness and physical capability to work in all seasons and varied weather conditions and perform heavy duty tasks as required.
· To provide occasional support at Town Council events.
· Any other duties that may be deemed necessary from time to time by the Town Clerk, commensurate with the post.
