We're Student Roost. An owner and operator of purpose-built student accommodation across the UK. Were not quite the new kids on the block, having already created a portfolio of over 19,000 beds and ambition to increase that further in the near future; but were at the very beginning of building our brand, our culture and our DNA. We think theres a difference between offering a 24/7 presence and a 24/7 service; having someone on hand isnt the same as having great service, around the clock. Instead, we prefer to say were always here.

We are looking for someone to join our Roost on a full-time permanent basis, with the successful candidate working 4 days on 4 days off - 8pm till 8am. The Night Owl will become a key part of our existing, friendly and experienced property team at our Dobbies Point Propertyin Glasgow

Key responsibilities for our Night Owls:

  • Our Night Owl team are the first point of contact for our residents throughout the night, they provide a welcoming and effective front ofhouse service with a winning smile. Deal with customer enquiries no matter howbig or small via email, website, phone and in person and undertake any otheradmin activities handed to you.
  • At the top of your agenda will be to maintain, adhere andfollow all our company health & Safety policies and processes. Includingincident reporting & escalation process, working within the guidelines ofGDPR, Carry out building patrols, supporting residents with any concerns or complaints in acalm and professional manner and maintaining clear logs of your activitiesthroughout your night shift, for a clear handover to your colleagues on thenext shift.
  • You will have the important job of collecting payments fromour residents, ensuring that sales targets are achieved, receiving delivery of postand deliveries for our residents and scheduling & completing show flatviewings.
  • Teamwork makes the dream work, so we ask you to support ourHousekeepers to ensure common rooms and lounges are neat and tidy, keeping ourvalue-add services in good working order such as snacks and refreshments and tofacilitate with some exciting evening events for our residents and generalsupport and guidance for our residents throughout the night.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • We would love someone on board with experience working in afast-paced customer service or sales environment, along with front linecustomer service delivery.
  • Ideally our new Night Owl will have worked in hotels or similar hospitality environments. If you have experience working night shifts and previously worked in student accommodation, then amazing!!! If not, dont worry this isnt essential.
  • We dont expect a tech wizard, however you should be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent written and verbal language is also required.
  • We pride ourselves on how awesome our teams are, so we arelooking for a conscientious and a well-presented individual to add to this. Youmust also have the ability to communicate with colleagues and residents alike and be flexible whilst adding value to the Student Roost team.
