Our home supports young people from the age of 8 - 18 years of age. We are committed to the safeguarding of children and young people and everything we do is designed to promote the safety and well-being of the children and young people we work with as they grow.

We support those with Autism, Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, Global developmental delay, challenging behaviours and learning disabilities.

Our approach is to provide creative child centred care for child and young people who are looked after. We believe that every child/young person has the right to the highest quality of care and have a safe, supportive, trusting, and nurturing environment. We facilitate the development and empowerment of each young person, so they grow into mature adults.

We are looking for a warm and friendly individual who has a passion for young people`s well-being and has a caring and patient nature.

Our Night Care Assistants are responsible for the routine care and safety needs of the children within the home during the night. They provide responsive care and support using a person-centred approach based on the individual needs of the children and their families.

As a Night Care Assistant, you will need to have an openness to and an aptitude for relationship focused and psychologically informed working practices. You must have the appropriate skills and experience to perform and work within an environment that can, at times, require using your own initiative along with an understanding of the children act, the quality care standards and Children’s Homes (England) regulations 2015.

You must hold, be working towards, or be willing to undertake and complete within 2 years of starting work at the home, the Level 3 Children and Young people’s Workforce Diploma and Social Care Pathway (England) 2015. OR you should hold an equivalent qualification such as The NVQ 3 caring for children & young people and be prepared to complete any additional work to meet the required level. Night Care Assistant roles attract the following additional payments. This post is an overnight role, for the most part, and will include weekend and bank holiday working, as well as attendance at team meetings and reflective practice sessions. Night Care Assistants have the support of a Residential Childrens Worker who will sleep in, and wake, should the need arise.

Our evening, weekend and bank holiday shifts attract enhanced payments, therefore increasing the basic salary. Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where is it part of your normal working pattern, however between 7pm and 7am enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced rates are also paid for working any bank holidays

The salary is Grade 5 £21,189 (starting scale) per annum (plus enhancements where applicable) based on a 37 hour week post.

The successful candidate must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
