Are you a Network Engineer looking for your next career move?
Sopra Steria's Aerospace, Defence and Security sector are looking to hire an expert network engineer to help handle and maintain our company’s enterprise network.
You will be delivering network engineering projects and handling sophisticated support issues through the company’s global infrastructure with a focus on UK activities.
This opportunity is Hybrid-Variable, meaning you can work from home or in the office as much or as little as you like. There will be the need to come to our Hemel Hempstead site depending on the needs of the business.
What you'll be doing:
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting internal network infrastructure.
- Designing and implementing business solutions using common network equipment.
- Monitoring and diagnosing performance issues.
- Crafting, writing, and updating both system documentation and network diagrams.
- Collaborating with senior engineers to design and implement functional company networks.
- Installing and configuring networking hardware.
- Creating and implementing network security measures.
- Taking care of escalated network support issues.
- Investigating and resolving assigned incidents.
- Actioning approved and designed changes.
- Connecting with customers to provide progress reports on Incidents.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous work experience as a networking engineer with demonstrated ability in LAN/WAN networks.
- Knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals such as routing protocols.
- High level problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Interpersonal skills to get along with team members and support personnel
