OUR COMPANY
Kennelpak Ltd was founded in 1974 as a supplier of both own brand and third party branded pet food products. In 1983 we opened our first store, initially named Kennelgate, which today operates as Pets & Friends both online and across a multi-site retail estate. Kennelpak Wholesale and Distributor division owns a number of successful own brands within its portfolio as well as having sole distribution rights for a number of large, international brands of pet food, treats and accessories. Our Support Centre and warehousing facilities are based in Stapleford, Nottingham.
In addition to selling a selection of pet food, accessories, and toys across both the Wholesale and Retail channels, we also provide an array of services, including grooming, dog training, nutritional advice, and licensed medication. At the core of Kennelpak’s values and proposition is our genuine passion for pets.
In 2017 PE house, Endless LLP, acquired Kennelpak recognising the exciting platform from which they could drive accelerated growth in an expanding sector. As a result, Kennelpak is currently going through a period of transformation whilst delivering significant growth.
PURPOSE
- Responsible for delivering overall sales revenue & gross profit targets within the defined accounts.
- Responsible for enhancing current customer base, developing customer relationships, increasing Kennelpak’s presence & share of business & pioneering appropriate new target customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop robust account specific sustainable growth plans in line with Company strategy
- Create, agree and expedite joint business plans with key customers
- Deliver and exceed defined sales, margin and product distribution targets
- Identify and implement opportunities for increased sales and margin through existing customer base
- Identify and address customer Pet category needs and opportunities better than the competition
- Establish and maintain, first class relationships with customers and act as the conduit across relevant functions between Kennelpak and the account, to ensure that customer expectations are met
- Identify and develop plans to recruit and retain strategically important new customers in the UK and Ireland.
- Plan, evaluate and effectively implement price rises as required across the customer base
- Effectively plan the utilisation of marketing / promotional funds and assets, to ensure maximum return on investment. Within these plans, ensure a focus on sell through and consumer reach
- Develop a point of purchase vision for each customer and implement plans to deliver this vision in store
- Identify and agree appropriate promotional plans with customers and review effectiveness
- Through the provision of consumer insight and category/product knowledge, establish a reputation for Kennelpak across the customer base as a category expert and preferred supplier
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Superior communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- First class organisational and planning skills
- Robust commercial acumen
- Ability to analyse and turn data into insight
- Previous National Account or Key Account Management experience
- Genuine interest in pets and importance of their health
- Sound working knowledge of pet nutrition desired
- Full UK Driving License
