An exciting development opportunity has become available, a Multi-Skilled Machine Operator (Print) within the Production team.

So what is the role?
Reporting to the Production Shift Manager, this role is to support the daily operation of Gravure Printing Press. You will maintain safety standards; work within product security parameters and to the highest quality level, while achieving required productivity and spoilage targets.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Ensure the machines operate in accordance with all Health and Safety requirements.
- Participate in the creation of and follow all safe systems of work and risk assessments.
- Report any H&S issues immediately to your line manager.
- Actively promote a H&S culture, though leading by example.
- Hold responsibility in achieving a high standard of 7S amongst the Inks and print areas of the production process, by leading by example and embedding the standards into the organisational culture.
- Ensure all Product Security procedures are followed within the print process.
- Ensure the printing press has the required level of consumables to ensure operation at maximum efficiency.
- Ensure your area operates to all process control standards indicated by the company.
- Escalate any alterations or inefficiencies which indicate deviations to standard to the relevant stakeholders.
- Record daily production related activity as applicable.
- Support problem solving and RCA activities.
- Attend Production meetings as and when required.
- Support Maintenance when working on reactive and preventative duties.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of the printing process
- Ensure the cleanliness of the plant at all times
- MSO’s are required to be trained in at least one of the three MSO areas. This includes; Sheeting, Inks or Print.
- As per business flexibility requirements, area of operation can be changed if the employee is competent to do so.
What skills and qualifications will you need?
As the successful candidate for this role, you will work with a strong attention to detail and clear focus towards problem solving, as well as being able to demonstrate both excellent communication and time management skills. You will have an understanding of lean manufacturing principles and be able to work on your own and in part of a team.
Compulsory Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 Print based apprenticeship or technical equivalent
- IOSH Working Safely or equivalent
- Understanding of lean principles
- Manufacturing experience
Desired Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
- Training delivery qualification (Preferred)

Additionally, you will be given 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) working 12 hour shift system.
