We’re helping refugees find a safe home in our community, can you help make this happen?

We have recently created a Migration team to welcome new residents into Bracknell communities who have arrived on Government Migration schemes (this includes schemes such as Homes for Ukraine, Hong Kong British Nationals and Afghan Relocation). To make this happen we need effective programme management across multiple teams and partners. Could you lead this work? The work is rapidly evolving with new data and guidance daily. Your role will be to ensure that there is effective community integration support.

Because we’re Bracknell Forest.

What it’s like working in our team…

The Migration team was established in April 2023 to bring together the Council's support across all Migration schemes. This is high priority and profile work in the Council and we are working closely to deliver the best outcomes. We have a number of subject matter experts in the team and we are regularly in touch with staff across the whole Council and more widely with partners.

The team sits within the Early Help team who lead on providing support to children and families within Bracknell Forest. We also work in close partnership across a number of Council teams and external partners including Housing, Communications, Engagement, our Voluntary and Community sector partners, Health and Department for Work and Pensions.

You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training…

  • To lead and co-ordinate an overarching change management and cross council support and community integration programme for refugees and asylum seekers across all government schemes operating in Bracknell Forest.
  • The role provides expert input on programme and change management to the Council’s senior leaders.
  • You will be required to work with senior colleagues and external partners to provide the direction and expertise required to analyse, plan and implement new ways of working and service delivery models to deliver effective outcomes for refugees.

The benefits you will experience are…

  • An inclusive and social working environment.
  • A supportive approach to working from home.
  • Flexible working opportunities including a flexi-time scheme.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement.
  • Regular opportunities for development with internal and external training courses, including apprenticeship opportunities.
  • A great office location next to travel links and the regenerated town centre.
  • Internal sports and social club opportunities.
  • Discounted leisure centre and gym membership.
  • Supermarket discount.
  • An interest free loan for a rail season ticket.

What we’re looking for…

We are looking for a highly self-motivated and resilient Programme Manager, experienced in a fast paced environment. You will be able to motivate an effective team to coordinate a programme of community integration support and operational processes and be skilled at working collaboratively and developing effective partnerships.

Interview date

The interviews will be held on 06th June 2023.
