Who you are:*
As a Migration Engineer, you will face numerous technical challenges, so you must be familiar with the use of current technologies & get involved. You are a thinker but also a doer. You know how to be independent, but also know how to be a supportive team player. You pay attention to detail, and if X is asked, you present X+Y!

Main Activities:*
- You will Install, configure, and monitor DesAcc’s migration software applications starting with pre-project assessments and the development of migration plans through to validation/verification and will be managing, implementing, and overseeing multiple data migrations worldwide
- Updating project tasks with activities and progress
- Obtaining and collating connectivity info from clients
- Checking Remote Access / DB and storage access during project initiation phase
- Testing connections to source and target systems
- Performing quality checks on deployed projects prior to execution
- Installing and managing DesAcc applications
- Monitoring of active projects
- Responding to alerting from live projects and taking appropriate action
- Collecting logs, basic troubleshooting in the event of an issue
- Tracking down migration issues, log items into DevOps where required
- Failure analysis
- Examine DICOM file specific issues
- Drill into file format specific issues found within site systems
- Develop migration plans SOPs and build out the ‘internal knowledge’ within the team
- Participate in Service improvement initiatives
This role won't be a fit if:
- You are not experienced in DICOM, PACS or RIS and are not familiar with the day-to-day challenges of the imaging environment inside hospitals. Your work is best when a manager is always providing the next steps.
What are we looking for:
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in DICOM migration, support and integration.
- Previous experience: PACS* Migration Engineer/Senior PACS engineer/PACS support engineer/Integration engineer* or equivalent.
- Mid-level networking skill, understanding of following principles/protocols DNS, DHCP, NAT, TCP/IP
- Knowledge or understanding of Hardware or Hypervisor technologies (ESX,VMWare, HyperV).
- Able to perform and troubleshoot storage connections to CIFS, NFS, EMC Centera.
- Ability to craft complex SQL queries such as multiple join / multiple database queries using tools like TOAD and SQL Server Studio.
- Ability to perform and troubleshoot storage connections to CIFS, NFS, Object store (including EMC Centera).
- Ability to work across time-zones when required.
- Ability to work occasional weekends to support customer Go-lives.
- Experience of working to tight timescales.
- Experience with large enterprise imaging environments.
- Capacity to work across multiple active projects
- Good interpersonal skills, experience in a customer facing role
- Be a Team player able to be flexible in dealing with others and the job
- Desire to grow and progress career in the arena of health data
Desirable Skills:
- SQL and RDBMS experience hugely desirable
- HL7 knowledge
- Object based storage: S3, EMC/Dell
- Scripting experience
- NoSQL experience
- Previous experience working with RIS
