This role is part of our Personalised Content team. We create emotive yet conversion-focused ideas, products and campaigns at scale and speed. JOB PURPOSE:
We are looking for a talented Designer to join out team on a 12m contract. As a Midweight Designer, you will be creating engaging designs that start conversations between people and brands. You'll work within a team of strategists, designers and copywriters to deliver impactful designs that fulfil client briefs and communicate DEPT®'s standard of Design. You'll be supporting our studio team for a key and exciting account, producing a range of different assets.
We are looking for a multidisciplinary designer that can turn their hand to digital first design and animation just as well as they can printed materials.
Our Midweight Designers are required to understand and motivate more junior designers to achieve extraordinary things: they're able to guide thinking and behaviour in others and take counsel from within to thrive in a dynamic environment. Our Design Mentors understand their craft, demonstrate good judgement and emotional intelligence, and inspire self-development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Digital-first design
- Animating for digital channels (Email, Display, Youtube).
- Delivering constructive feedback
- Coach your team members and help them to realise areas of development
- Working on a brief from start to finish
- Image sourcing
- Designing responsive customer-centric emails and landing pages
- Designing for print and merchandise
- Maintaining and regularly optimising an existing brand's digital design system
- Applying creativity to adhoc projects
- Always striving to create work that contributes towards the client's business goals
- Researching competitors and staying current with design and marketing trends
- Taking accountability for flawless design output
- Contributing innovative ideas at creative review meetings
- Protecting brand integrity and guardianship
SKILLS AND PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant digital design experience
- Intermediate understanding of motion design (we use Adobe After Effects)
- You are well versed in working in an agency context and have relevant experience covering brand, direct and above the line creative work
- Good eye for layout, skilled in typesetting and retouching.
- Proficient using digital design software (i.e. Figma, Adobe CS)
- Solid understanding of onsite/email marketing and design
- Basic understanding of print design.
- A great teammate that supports their colleagues and doesn't act as an individual
- Very organised with attention to detail
- A great source for up-to-the-minute creative knowledge and digital design trends
- Works with grit and determination in the face of demanding deadlines
- Has a desire to embrace new skills and challenges
