One of the UK’s leading ‘white label’ hotel management companies, Legacy Hotels and Resorts Limited have a rare opportunity for a General Manager to join our high calibre team in a well-established global brand. This role will drive the opening of the brand-new 146- bedroom Hampton by Hilton in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. This is part of a £250 million regeneration of the town centre; including 200,000sq ft of retail and leisure space, 520 space multi storey carpark and a Metrolink extension to Manchester City Centre. In the last couple of years the market has seen an increase in regeneration projects within Rochdale. This Hampton by Hilton will be located is the largest development in Rochdale in recent times.
The strategic General Manager will proactively drive the opening of the hotel facilities, outlets and room segments. You will have the opportunity to lead an exciting new project, working alongside a strong senior leadership team which you can build.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Management of the pre and post opening of the hotel.
- Manage ongoing profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
- Lead in all aspects of business planning, manage key hotel issues including; projects, customer service and delivering operational success.
- Agree financial targets with Senior Management team and ensure they are kept up to date with on-going financial information.
- Deliver set goals for hotel budgets and set other short- and long- term strategic goals for the hotel.
- Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.
- Liase with Legacy support teams during pre and post opening phases.
- Comply with and exceed Hilton Brand Service Standards.
- Ensure costs are controlled and revenue opportunities are effectively sourced and delivered.
- Ensure coaching activities are provided as required in order to develop team members potential and departmental succession plans are in place for the hotel, improving Team
What are we looking for?
Our ideal candidate will be a; passionate, operational hotelier, preferably with experience of working in a branded environment. You will have a passion for opening and driving the business forward whilst ensuring the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction are maintained at all times. You would preferably have opening experience, although this is not essential.
We are looking for someone who will bring vibrancy and energy to the opening project, someone who is hands on and will lead from the front.
You will have demonstrable experience in leading and motivating your teams to ensure that your hotel is fully compliant in all areas and be proactive in driving the commercial sales forward; as such you will be fully accountable for the people, product and profit of the hotel. You will have exemplary leadership, organisational and communication skills and strive to go ‘above and beyond’ to ensure the business is successful.
