About this role
Buttle UK, The Smallwood Trust and Turn2us are grant making organisations who believe no one in the UK should live in poverty. We are working together to look at the causes and impact of gendered poverty on women and their families in Middlesbrough.
It’s important that this project is led and informed by women and their children affected by gendered poverty because we know it will help us have greater impact and shift power. We are seeking an energetic, organised and passionate Middlesbrough Community Coordinator who will help work with local women and their children as well as local organisations to design this programme.
We’d love you to bring coordination experience, an understanding of projects and programmes and any knowledge and experience you have of the local voluntary and community sector in Middlesbrough – whether that is paid work, volunteer work or experience accessing services. We’d especially like to hear from people with lived experience of financial insecurity.
This role will be managed and hosted by the Local Programmes Team at Turn2us, but you will work closely with staff from all three organisations. You will be required to travel to the London office on a quarterly basis – your travel and accommodation will be paid for.
If you are committed to Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, love to support organise projects and believe that the people who have experienced poverty are the best people to end it – then we want to hear from you.
We welcome applications from anyone regardless of their age, experience, disability, ethnicity, heritage, sexuality, gender and socio-economic background. We particularly welcome applications from disabled candidates, trans people and black, Asian, and minority ethnic candidates, as these groups are underrepresented within our organisation.

The charity also offers 2 volunteering days per year to allow staff to gain experiences and skills outside of work for example at a food bank or becoming a trustee at another charity.
We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working.
