This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role leading the Communications and Marketing strategy for an organisation looking to drive change in the Sustainability space with a particular focus on highlighting ESG risks and opportunities focused on Institutional investors and corporates.
Experience working in a Communications and Marketing role in capital markets, asset management or financial services is preferred. Knowledge of ESG risks in the context of capital markets, climate and public policy is highly desirable.
You will play a key role as a member of the leadership team and will be a collaborative team leader able to partner well with your peers and support the brand and reputation.
You will develop the marketing & communication strategy and lead a team that develops strategies and executes campaigns to support the brands and promotion of the organisation’s role as a thought leader, as well as promote thematic research; data, tools and indices; and investor and corporate engagements.
Key responsibilities
Annual Strategic Planning: Responsible for developing and managing the annual Communications & Marketing plan and budget and for evaluating the effectiveness of marketing activities and spend.
Communications Strategy: Overall responsibility for managing the narrative in the media. Develop a good understanding of the competitive landscape, the use of the “investor voice” and the factors shaping the media’s view of the organisation and its issues. Be accountable for the successful implementation and roll-out of communication plans.
Brand strategy: Protect and enhance the organisation’s brand and reputation across all channels. Ensure consistent brand strategy, positioning and execution across channels.
Marketing strategy: Completing the digital transformation, ensuring our digital channels are impactful and leveraged effectively to engage stakeholders. Responsible for website presence, SEO, data capture, social channels and content.
Marketing Automation/CRM Tools. Ensure team is optimising the use of Salesforce and Pardot communications interface to achieve marketing KPIs and outcomes. Be familiar with other marketing tools and how best to pilot and utilise them effectively.
Events management: Oversee team’s execution of hybrid and in person events, managing technology interface, supporting creation PowerPoint slides for speakers
People Management: Responsible for developing and leading a highly effective Communications & Marketing team, coaching and developing the skills of the team. Provide support and guidance to the Communications team, creating a positive environment which allows the team to be successful.
Experience required
- You will be an experienced leader with deep functional expertise in corporate communications and in particular reputation management and brand. You will need experience building brands, raising executive profiles and leading thought leadership campaigns and product launches. You will also need wider experience in marketing, digital and events.
- Experience working in capital markets, asset management and financial services in financial communications and/or marketing is preferred.
- Knowledge of ESG risks in the context of capital markets, climate and public policy is highly desirable.
- A strong track record working in communications and/or marketing (in-house or agency) is essential. The individual should have a strong communications and brand background, comfortable managing the communications and marketing function. Experienced track record developing and executing integrated strategies and campaigns across Brand, Marketing & Communication that raise brand awareness and support business objectives. Deep experience positioning CEOs and other senior leaders across platforms
- Strong influencing skills and stakeholder management. Able to cultivate and maintain good working relationships at all levels. The successful candidate has the gravitas and experience to give credible advice and inspire confidence and can provide compelling and well thought out solutions to complex problems. Experience reporting to Boards/Trustees/CEOs and measuring impact and ROI for strategies and campaigns
- You will be familiar with implementing integrated campaigns using a variety of digital marketing tools and communication channels. Strong technical and digital knowledge of key communication and marketing tools and platforms g. Pardot, Salesforce, Social and CMS; Experience with video, podcasts, social media, other communication channels. Experience managing agencies and freelancers to time & budget
