Job description

Microsoft Research, Health Futures (UK), is looking for an AI resident (fixed-term researcher) experienced in deep generative modelling and inverse problems in medical imaging. You can be part of a multi-disciplinary team that values collaboration, composed of researchers, software developers, and clinicians. The research will involve cloud-scale deep learning and advancing state-of-the-art image reconstruction and generative modeling techniques to improve existing healthcare image data acquisition and diagnostics workflows.

Responsibilities

Conduct innovative deep learning research alongside a team of experts in machine learning, signal processing, software development, and clinical practice.
Design, implement, and evaluate deep learning and signal processing algorithms that take into account clinical data and responsible AI.
Share findings with research groups and collaborators, through blogposts and publications in reputable academic venues.
Contribute to an evolving team with a growth mindset, creating clarity and influencing the team strategy.

Qualifications

Required:

PhD degree (or on-track to complete) in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Deep Learning, Physics or a related area.
Past working experience in inverse problems and/or raw signal data processing is preferred.
Passionate about healthcare applications and improving patient outcomes.
Impact driven mindset and ability work and learn in a collaborative and diverse environment.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, etc.), and software engineering skills for rapid and accurate development.
