Job description
Microsoft Research, Health Futures (UK), is looking for an AI resident (fixed-term researcher) experienced in deep generative modelling and inverse problems in medical imaging. You can be part of a multi-disciplinary team that values collaboration, composed of researchers, software developers, and clinicians. The research will involve cloud-scale deep learning and advancing state-of-the-art image reconstruction and generative modeling techniques to improve existing healthcare image data acquisition and diagnostics workflows.

Responsibilities
- Conduct innovative deep learning research alongside a team of experts in machine learning, signal processing, software development, and clinical practice.
- Design, implement, and evaluate deep learning and signal processing algorithms that take into account clinical data and responsible AI.
- Share findings with research groups and collaborators, through blogposts and publications in reputable academic venues.
- Contribute to an evolving team with a growth mindset, creating clarity and influencing the team strategy.
Qualifications
Required:
- PhD degree (or on-track to complete) in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Deep Learning, Physics or a related area.
- Past working experience in inverse problems and/or raw signal data processing is preferred.
- Passionate about healthcare applications and improving patient outcomes.
- Impact driven mindset and ability work and learn in a collaborative and diverse environment.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, etc.), and software engineering skills for rapid and accurate development.
