The Target Healthcare Group is a niche pharmaceutical developer, manufacturer and supplier to the retail pharmacy, hospital, pharmaceutical wholesaler, and homecare markets.
Within the Group, Quantum Pharmaceutical is the UK's leading manufacturer and supplier of unlicensed medicines and hard-to-source products. Throughout the UK the Group employs close to 300 including pharmacists, skilled technicians, HR, IT, procurement, warehouse, and customer services staff.
Our Aseptic Services department manufacture life-saving cancer chemotherapy drugs. We're looking to add a Microbiologist Analyst to this busy and fast-paced team.
As a Microbiologist Analyst your responsibilities will include, though will not be limited to:
- Being capable and undertake Quality Control release of materials in accordance with defined procedures.
- Undertaking stock control activities relating to materials or consumables used within the Microbiology Laboratory or within the Environmental Monitoring Programme.
- Performing environmental monitoring, including the preparation of settle plates, contact plates, and TVC (Total Viable Count) sample.
- Performing sample receipt.
- Interpreting environmental monitoring samples and perform microbial identification when required.
- Updating the environmental monitoring trending databases.
- Undertaking general housekeeping duties within the Microbiology laboratory.
- Investigating new product opportunities including practical development work, raw material procurement and searching for published stability data.
- Undertaking project work as part of a team when necessary.
- Observing and actively promoting Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Maintaining and developing company Quality and Business Systems in conjunction with other Quantum departments.
- Deputising for Line Manager as required.

To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate:
- Strong, up to date, knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
- A knowledge of GxP Quality Management Systems
- A supportive nature - and good team-playing mentality
- Being capable of working towards KPIs
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work at pace and in a high-pressured environment
Hours of work for this role are 40 hours, Monday - Friday between our core business hours of 06.00 - 22.00
This is initally an 18 month fixed term contract
