Job description
Fineline Metals is a custom ornamental metal/ structural steel fabrication company in the Bay Area. Seeking both entry level and experienced full-time welder/ fabricators.
Ideal candidates are detailed/ process/ team oriented that are cooperative and collaborative. Day to day projects may vary widely: flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly are essential. Duties will be performed both individually and with a team of other cross-skilled fabricators, and alongside project managers and customers. Compensation based on experience level.
As a Welder/ Fabricator Your Basic Responsibilities/Skills include;
- Working and finishing architectural metals, including proper material handling, cutting, drilling, tapping, notching, and grinding.
- Fabricating finished parts and complex assemblies to specification, tight tolerances is required.
- Experience in TIG and MIG welding a variety of metals including steel, aluminum, stainless steel and bronze in thicknesses ranging from 20GA to 3/8”+.
- Use of variety of hand tools (drills, grinders, measuring tools, etc).
- Able to design and build jigs and fixtures.
- Able to compensate for/ or avoid problems caused from welding (including material distortion and warping).
- Strong mechanical ability and problem solving.
- Blue print reading, basic math skills.
Required:
- Minimum 2-3 years experience.
- Valid Driver License.
- Jobs hours 7-3:30pm, M-F, OT/ night/ weekends when needed.
- Work will be required both in shop and in the field.
- Punctuality is a must.
- Have reliable transportation.
Ideal/ Preferred:
- AWS certification
- Forklift Certified
- Metal finishing and polishing
- Experience with large equipment, such as press break, metal shear, iron worker
- Strong mechanical ability
