Compensation: $78,000 to $130,000 + 401k match up to 6%, profit sharing, OT eligible, long-term incentive plans

Travel: Less than 20% (meeting with vendors, could be international) never more than 2 weeks of consecutive travel at a time.
Education / Certifications: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred.
Job Description:
The Senior Buyer will provide procurement services as required for the Project Procurement Department and the Procurement Services Group. Support and provide guidance to any/all purchasing teammates and Vendor Controls teammates who are assigned to the projects. The Sr. Buyer will expect to have around a half a dozen vendors to be responsible for. They will be managing the heavy equipment/mechanical/compressors/high dollar equipment. They will be using SAP as our ERP system.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Issue RFQ's, RFI's, and Purchase Orders for the Project Procurement Group, including data input.
- Organize and coordinate daily activities including setting up meetings, maintaining schedules, following up with reminders, and handling confidential matters.
- Provide frequent, timely and results-oriented vendor expediting to verify and influence manufacturing schedules, shipping schedules or drawing/document submittal schedules.
- Attending the weekly shipping meetings to update project manager on status of orders.
- Maintain and update, as needed, budget report on all items purchased.
- Maintain and update, as needed, invoice report on all purchased items.
- Maintain and update, as needed, warranty log of all applicable items.
- Monitor the progress of the entire purchasing process including pre-project planning, project execution and the post-award phase.
- Perform purchasing work related to special projects and/or assignments as required.
- Maintain awareness of the general market climate and specific supplier circumstances for those equipment and commodities that relate to the purchases that will be required.
- Negotiation and placement of purchase orders for complex fast-track engineered equipment and/or services including terms and conditions without supervisory assistance in a manner that supports the projects budgetary and schedule goals.
- Provide assistance in the mentoring and training for the development of Purchasing Agents and Buyers within the Project Procurement Group and the Procurement Services Group
Skills/Abilities:
Required:
- Experience in an industrial purchasing environment
- International purchasing experience mandatory, with keen knowledge of INCO Terms and export packaging standards
- Thorough understanding of standard terms and conditions of procurement packages
- Proficient with a typical ERP system
- Proficient with a typical MRP document control systems
- Proven ability to effectively negotiate engineered equipment packages.
- Intimate working knowledge of market conditions for equipment and commodities in domestic and international markets
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
