LECTURER IN CREATIVE WRITING
Martin Keaveney Creative Writing work with hundreds of creative writers and literature enthusiasts annually.
MKCW are now seeking a LECTURER in CREATIVE WRITING due to the expansion of our Course Catalogue from March 2023.
The successful applicant will present at least one 8 week course in Creative Writing (composed of one or more of: Fiction/Screenwriting/Playwriting/Poetry/Nonfiction /Others depending on the profile of the lecturer). There is a strong chance of further work for excellent lecturers.
The course will be normally delivered online via Zoom.
Requirements of the Post:
- Teach pre-existing courses in cooperation with course designer.
- Facilitate creative writing workshop.
- Provide editorial comments on writers' submissions .
- Opportunity to design 8 week course to introduce participants to creative writing /develop participants' progress in the area where required.
- Provide 200 word summary of course where required.
- Prepare and supply participants with 2-3 support readings for each session including excerpts where required.
- Identify related material where required.
- Pre record 1x 60 minute seminar of a writing craft aspect (full assistance with technical aspects as required) where required.
- Present 1x 60 minute seminar of a writing craft aspect + moderate 1x 60 minute creative workshop on Zoom where required.
- Respond promptly to participant emails about the subject where required.
- Provide brief feedback/in-text comments on all weekly submissions.
- Provide editorial response of 300-500 words of each Final Project within pre-arranged timescale after the course conclusion.
- Promote your course.
- Course may be repeated and pre recorded videos recycled.
- Course may be delivered In-Person.
Essential Candidate requirements
- PhD in Creative Writing or Related Field (or near completion)
- Impeccable Presentation skills In-Person and Online
- Impeccable writing and reading skills
- Experience in teaching and moderating creative writing workshops at Higher Education level
- Commitment to Excellence in Teaching
- Passionate about subject area

The position will be dependent on school requirements in any session and subject to a low minimum number to run.
Due to the nature of short course bookings, confirmation may not be made until 24 hours before course start date.
Remuneration: £38.02 per lecture hour + £17.49 per workshop facilitation hour. (8 week course x 8 lecture hours + 8 workshop hours total per course - courses may be repeated) -- strong potential for advancement & additional opportunities depending on skill set.
Other course variations may also be offered.
