Job description
If you’re looking to take your career to the next step in an exciting yet challenging role, this is the place for you. As a buyer, you'll be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and shareholders. You'll have experience managing suppliers from overseas, particularly from the Far East region. Your job will also involve monitoring stock and sales to ensure consistent and healthy levels throughout the year, while taking into account peak sales periods, upcoming trends, and events that could impact your order schedules.
THE ROLE:
- Establish, build and maintain relationships with suppliers and shareholders, ensuring a strong business relationship
- Work with suppliers to negotiate the best cost prices, lead times and payment terms
- Produce and analyse reports
- Manage pricing across categories to achieve a competitive position, without compromising profitability
- Maximize the performance of your products by establishing a good understanding of your range, competitors and the wider retail market
- Work with other departments to help maximize sales, profit and efficient stock management
- Build relationships across all departments, communicating with managers and directors
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SHOW US:
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role - experience with buying or purchasing is essential
- Comfortable, confident and experienced in managing overseas suppliers, typically the Far East region
- Dynamic and eager to learn and develop within our company
- Excellent negotiation skills and comprehensive commercial awareness, with the ability to identify trends and consider the impact on stock levels
- Good numerical and analytical skills - proficient in the use of Excel at an intermediate level, as well as being confident on other Microsoft programs
- Able to find and extract data and develop a full understanding and awareness of business systems
- Ability to work proactively and re-actively in a fast-paced environment, and keep calm under pressure and when completing multiple tasks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work in a team

Hours: 37.5 hours per week with core hours of 9:00AM - 5:30PM - we offer flexible working. The role is fully on site in Wrexham (LL13 9UT), so you'll need to be able to commute. We require a quick start so are unable to consider applications from outside of the UK.

Salary: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
