About the role

To support our continued growth, we are looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to join our International Franchise team.

You will build and manage strong working relationships with our Franchise Partners, working closely with them to deliver a commercial range to our International customers as well as acting as first point of contact for all queries. In doing this you will liaise with our internal buying and merchandising teams to maximise franchise orders, managing stock flow to support strong trading with our Franchise Partners.

In the team you will coach and guide the trainees within the team as well as building strong relationships across the organisation

• Work closely with our International Franchise partners and Trading teams as well as other key functions to maintain and develop Matalan’s international presence.
• Act as a role model within their team, positively managing change and offering encouragement and support to colleagues through times of change.
• You’ll coach and guide the trainees within the team and work across your peer group, team and wider business to share company best practice and consistency of approach.

About You

• Proven experience within a Merchandising, Franchise/wholesale or stock placement function
• Experience of building and maintaining strong collaborative, working relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders
• Excellent commercial awareness
• High standard of numerical ability High, consistent attention to detail, always striving to deliver good quality work to key deadlines
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels across the business
• Excellent presentation and organisational skills
