We are seeking a MERCHANDISE ITEM PLANNER to join the Orvis Team!
The Merchandise Item Planner is responsible for pre-season & in-season item plans, and identification of sales, profit, and inventory productivity opportunities for the Item/Country/Channels. This includes in-season reporting, forecasting, reacting to business trends, and opportunities to chase sales.

Position Interfaces:
This position will report to the Merchandise Planning Manager. The position will interface with Planning and Allocation, Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, Sourcing & Logistics as well as general management; and will have no direct reports.
Responsibilities:
- Development, analysis, and revision of item plans for sales, profit, and inventory
- Ensure item plans developed meet category/subcategory financial targets and strategy
- Recommend seasonal merchandise flow strategies that maximize sales, profitability, and customer experience
- Present analysis in weekly business meetings and/or monthly planning meetings
- Meet key milestone event dates as established in our calendar of events, and ensure accurate information is communicated within those prescribed time frames
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with planning systems experience preferred - Oracle RPAS a strong plus
- 1-3 years of omni-channel merchandise planning experience strongly preferred
- BA/BS degree in business-related field and/or relevant work experience
- A brand ambassador, encouraging the Orvis Purpose, Personality, Guiding Beliefs, and Culture
