Job description
Looking for a rewarding part-time role that makes a real difference?
We're seeking an enthusiastic mentor to work with young people with additional support needs, helping them achieve their full potential and reach their goals.
Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about changing lives, and who is committed to creating positive change in the lives of young people. You'll have a genuine interest in supporting young people with additional support needs, and a desire to help them develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
At Brothers of Charity Scotland, we believe in the power of a one team ethos. We understand that by working collaboratively and supporting one another, we can achieve our goals and deliver the best possible outcomes for the young people we work with.
As a mentor, you'll be responsible for providing guidance, support and encouragement to young people, helping them to navigate the challenges they face and overcome obstacles on their journey to success. You'll work closely with them to develop person centred goals and develop plans to achieve them, and you'll be there every step of the way to provide support and encouragement as they work towards their goals.
To be successful in this role, you'll need to have excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with people. You'll need to be patient, empathetic and non-judgmental, and you'll need to have a positive and optimistic outlook that can inspire young people to achieve their best.
As a mentor, you'll be an integral part of this team, and we'll expect you to get stuck in and contribute to our collective success. Whether it's helping out with a fundraising, attending a team meeting or providing support to a colleague who needs it, we expect all of our team members to be willing to get involved.
But most importantly, you'll need to be passionate about changing lives, and committed to helping young people with additional support needs reach their full potential. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
