Job description
Mental Health Support Worker/Trainee Nursing Associate – Devon/Cornwall
Within our PCN we have 5 GP practices who have joined together to form the Coast & Country PCN. The group includes Bradworthy, Holsworthy, and Hatherleigh practices in Devon with Stratton and Neetside in Cornwall.
Our surgery teams work closely together, enjoying the ability to share expertise and resources and to develop their services. Our vision is to continue to improve the quality of care that we provide in alignment with the need of our patient population.
We are able to build on the services already offered by primary care services and offer proactive, personalised, coordinated and more integrated health and social care. Clinicians describe this as a change from reactively providing appointments to proactively providing care for the people and communities they serve.
This role will be joining our Mental Health Support team, working as a Mental Health Support Worker with the potential to become qualified as a Nursing Associate after a successful probation and demonstration of ability and commitment to pursue this level of study.
You will be working under the daily supervision of Mental Health Practitioners, as part of the multi-disciplinary team, supporting the delivery of care for people with a range of mental health presentations in both a clinical and administrative capacity. This will involve some face-to-face contact and intervention as part of any relevant care plans without the direct supervision of a mental health practitioner. The mental health practitioners within the PCN are required to carry the responsibility for decision making and direction.
