We are currently looking for a passionate Meeting & Events Sales Executive (Proactive) to join the team here at Bankside Hotel - Voted one of the 'Best Places to Work in Hospitality' 3 years in a row. MAIN SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
This position is responsible for maintaining and maximising sales revenue within Conference & Events, Banqueting, Meetings and Social Events, ensuring all event details are recorded accurately, assisting in achieving budgets & targets set for this area - and the overall hotel budget, through effective use of yield policy and overall promotion of the Bankside product and its services. This role is about positioning Bankside as the ‘go-to’ hotel in the area.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To maximise Sales opportunities to achieve budget & revenue targets.
- To quote according to hotel guidelines, ensuring information is correctly input into the system immediately.
- To arrange & conduct site-inspections and educational trips for clients, to promote all aspects of Bankside’s offerings.
- Qualifying clients’ overall function needs & venues used, as well as other relevant Event booker contacts within their organization, to ensure capture of future bookings. Presenting other relevant hotel facilities & services accordingly to achieve maximum exposure.
- Developing & maintaining good working relationships with clients, to achieve consistent, efficient service - both for new and returning customers.
- To maintain a high level of product knowledge & awareness of in-house business and clients.
- Ensuring effective communication within the Conference Meetings & Events Department and throughout the hotel, particularly between Reservations, Food & Beverage, Front Office and Sales.
- Competitor analysis & regular information gathering regarding market trends, to ensure Bankside’s offerings are dynamic, relevant & better than the competition’scompetitors.
- To qualify all Event clients re potential for corporate rates. Identifying decision-makers and gathering information on budget, location requirements, hotels already used. Pitching rates & issuing contracts
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Adhere to all company credit policies to ensure that all revenue expected is received.
- Be fully conversant with & adhere to hotel fire procedures, life safety policy and all other Legal requirements.
- Ensure total confidentiality is observed in the execution of your duties.
- Proficiency in a PMS – ideally Opera is required.
- You should have experience of working in a high-end hotel or venue – ideally in an Administrative, or Reservations capacity
- Great Customer Service Skills - Must enjoy guest interaction (phone, email and in person), be able to anticipate guest needs, handle objections and complaints whilst maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times.
- Must have a passion for Sales and self-motivated to achieve individual and team targets at every opportunity.
- Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
