Ideal Person Specification

The Meeting and Events Sales Executive will be a passionate and enthusiastic, vivacious individual who is willing to learn, with the ability to build rapport and strong relationships with all stakeholders including clients and colleagues. You will be a proactive team player, striving to achieve excellence in your work and will carry out your duties with a meticulous and detailed attitude. Within this role you could be responsible for organising and coordinating some of Hull’s most impressive events, and driving and managing sales within a leading hotel brand.


The Role

You will support a busy events department across the full lifecycle of events. Your duties will include taking, converting, processing, and managing enquiries. You will utilise the sales team’s internal system to input, track and process event details. You will act as a brand ambassador for the hotel and will be confident in selling and representing the hotel’s products and services. Your day could include conducting a show round with potential clients, or talking through the final details of a wedding with the bride and groom, or even attending an internal operations meeting to liaise with other departments, like the kitchen team, on the flow and order of upcoming events.


Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively promoting and selling the hotel and its facilities via a range of different channels.
  • Taking and processing enquiries for events such as weddings, charity balls, celebrations, team building packages etc.
  • Inputting data and details into the sales system, Delphi.
  • Exporting reports and compiling information to review and share for upcoming events.
  • Maintaining excellent product knowledge of the hotel and its services.
  • Answering the phone, and emails and attending meetings.
  • Receiving feedback and managing this effectively and efficiently.
  • Supporting to maximise sales opportunities. And identify new leads or sales opportunities.
  • Building rapport with new and existing clientele.
  • Working collaboratively with supporting departments.
  • Working to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Preparation and communication of accurate and detailed function sheets.
  • Collection of pre-orders and payments.
