This is a mid-level shop position for the R&D exhaust team. The employee would be under light supervision, supporting design and fabrication of exhaust systems and headers.

Key Job Elements (Essential Functions Performed):

• Fabrication and welding of components and assemblies for testing
• Fixture design, fabrication, and welding
• Setup and operation of chassis dyno to evaluate/validate product design
• Take detailed and accurate notes of the design process to ensure proper documentation is completed for project such as bend data sheets, installation images, and similar
• Coordinate operations necessary to complete assigned projects. This requires interaction with other employees, and in some cases direction of support personnel
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
• Maintain inventory of fixture and exhaust fabrication related consumables
• Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Education/Experience required):

• Moderate metal fabrication skills related to cutting, drilling, grinding, and finishing
• Ability to perform accurate measurements using precision measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, scale, level, protractor, torque wrench, etc.)
• Familiar with advanced automotive exhaust design elements and fabrication methods
• Intermediate level MIG welding skills required. TIG welding skills desirable
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to drive a manual transmission car
• High School diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years work experience in related trade
• Basic computer skills, word processing, spreadsheet, and Microsoft Office suite program background
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction and division, and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios in practical situations.
