Job description
Start your life-changing career today at St. Luke’s and enjoy competitive compensation along with benefits like tuition reimbursement, hospital retirement contributions, financial planning assistance, health insurance and paid time off. St. Luke's is recruiting motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career as a Certified Medical Assistant for the Medical Assistant Training (MA-T) program.
This program is a paid apprenticeship opportunity lasting 9-10 months that is designed to provide our MA-Ts with the knowledge, education and skills to be successful in their careers as CMAs in the multiple clinic settings offered at St. Luke's.
Our program is based on classroom time, continuing education and study time, and rotations through Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Specialty clinics to offer a well-rounded experience.
This program is also designed to prepare MA-Ts to successfully take the certification exam. Now is the time to join a passionate, patient-focused team and start on the path of personal and professional growth in a rewarding and exciting industry.
If you have previous Medical Assistant experience or have graduated from a Medical Assistant school this program might not be for you. Please contact Matt Feurer at 208-814-2552 or [email protected] to learn about possible testing and credentialing options if you have these qualifications!
Required Criteria:
- Education:
- High School/GED Diploma
- Experience:
- A minimum of six (6) months of healthcare experience, including but not limited to: Patient Specialist, CNA, phlebotomy, EMT, dental assisting, pharmacy tech, etc.

This is an entry-level MA position. No prior MA experience is required. The MA will be oriented to skills and tasks within initial scope of practice (determined by experience/training level). On-the-job training will be provided as the MA supports the clinic, and four hours of paid study time will be provided each week. After approximately 9-10 months, the MA will sit for the credentialing exam, and be eligible to support our clinics in a Credentialed MA role.
